På första dagen anordnades ett symposium med titeln ”Interpretation of psychological assessment data in the personnel selection context: Implementation of the mechanical approach in selection practice”.
The selection process of pilots in the Swedish Armed Forces
Gerhard Wolgers, Swedish Armed Forces
This presentation will focus on a project that developed the process for the selection of military pilots. From having had a clinical oriented evaluation of the test data together with the interview data, the project has developed a psychometrical model for decision making. The intention is to assess future pilots training and job performance in a more standardized way.
Towards a mechanical approach for manager selection
Anders Gagnerud. Huddinge Municipality
There is strong evidence that supports a clear rational for the selection process in which every step of the selection procedure adds unique predictive information to the construct of leadership performance. Futhermore, that every part of information should be weighted mechanically according to how strong it contributes to predicting leadership performance. So far, Huddinge Municipality has taken a few steps in this direction by early in the selection process using a mechanical approach in the evaluation of psychometric test results from general mental ability- and personality measurements.
Research-based leadership selection – if we really want to predict antissocial behavior
Sara Henrysson Eidvall, Stockholm university
Increased attention is being devoted in recent selection literature to deviant personality traits at work like for example antisocial behavior. This presentation will focus on a project that developed a process to predict antisocial behavior using facets of the five factor model of personality.
Maria Åkerlund, Henrysson Åkerlund & Sjöberg AB
Research-based selection – if we really want to predict performance
This presentation will introduce a standardized selection process where the purpose is to predict managerial performance and in a financial organization. Relying on meta analysis results, this presentation will show how to weigh testdata optimal to predict managerial performance.
